Join Sanford Health's Urology Clinic as a Patient Care Technician supporting a team of specialists providing advanced surgical and non-surgical urological care. This role offers a fast-paced clinic environment where you'll work Monday through Friday in a sensitive, patient-centered setting helping answer questions about conditions and treatment options.
Clinical Setting
You will work in an ambulatory urology clinic within Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no weekend or holiday requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care services including vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure)
- Conduct visual acuity and color vision screening
- Perform drug screens and point-of-care urinalysis
- Complete reception and clerical tasks
- Prepare patient treatment areas for use
- Prepare and clean medical equipment
- Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy
- Clean and maintain patient care areas and treatment rooms
- Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock or reorder as needed
- Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care
- Provide age-appropriate patient care and demonstrate cultural diversity awareness
- Work effectively amidst multiple distractions while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment
- If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of six months' experience
- Experience in a clinic setting
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Schedule and Compensation
- Shift: Day shift
- Scheduled weekly hours: 36
- Salary range: $15.00 - $25.50 per hour
- Experience is credited toward wage
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (no weekends or holidays)
- Union position: No
