Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Clinic - Cardiology

Join Aurora Medical Group's cardiology clinic in Sheboygan, Wisconsin as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). You will support our experienced team of cardiologists and heart specialists in delivering comprehensive heart and vascular care to patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions and diseases.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will work alongside physicians, nurses, and teammates to provide high-quality, coordinated patient care in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record
• Partner with the care team to deliver seamless, compassionate patient experiences

Required Qualifications

• GED or high school equivalency diploma
• For LPN: Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice
• For MA: Completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within the last 5 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), to be obtained within 45 days of hire unless your department leader determines it is not required

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies
• Ability to push/pull with 30 pounds of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures
• Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines
• Ability to perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation if needed
• Potential exposure to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary
• Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and unit conditions
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required
• Additional department-specific physical requirements may be identified by the nurse leader
