Lake Region Healthcare is seeking Medical Assistants (MA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), or Registered Nurses (RN) to join the Enterprise Float pool. This is a clinic-based float position that provides clinical support across multiple clinic locations. You will work in all clinic areas to cover clinical support staff call-ins and PTO, and provide additional support to providers as needed. This role offers the opportunity to help patients in all stages of life and work with a collaborative team focused on quality patient care.
Clinical Setting
You will float to departments within the Fergus Falls Clinic and other clinic locations including Barnesville, Morris, Ashby, and Battle Lake.
Responsibilities
For Medical Assistants:
- Provide clinical and administrative support to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
- Assist with patient preparation, clinical procedures, documentation, and coordination of care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
- Support overall clinic operations to enhance quality, access, and patient satisfaction
- Communicate professionally with patients, coworkers, and providers
- Demonstrate knowledge of available resources within Lake Region Healthcare and the broader community
For Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Provide patient-centered care by effectively communicating with patients, coworkers, and providers
- Provide patient care support as delegated by a provider or registered nurse
- Practice in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, professional nursing standards, and organizational policies
- Apply sound clinical judgment and collaborate effectively to ensure safe, comprehensive, and compassionate patient care
- Demonstrate knowledge of available resources within Lake Region Healthcare and the broader community
For Registered Nurses:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, delegation, and evaluation
- Perform nursing duties accurately and efficiently while assisting providers and carrying out orders
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation
- Demonstrate proficient, compassionate, and professional communication with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, providers, and community partners
- Practice in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, professional nursing standards, and organizational policies
- Apply sound clinical judgment and collaborate effectively to ensure safe, comprehensive, and compassionate patient care
- Delegate and supervise nursing care consistent with professional standards and RN scope of practice
Schedule
64 hours biweekly, day shifts, Monday to Friday. Required ability to float to all departments within the Fergus Falls, Barnesville, Morris, Ashby, and Battle Lake clinics.
Required Qualifications
For Medical Assistants:
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months
- Successful completion of pre-employment health screening
- Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites
- Verified completion of an MA diploma/program with proof of current certification as an MA if certification received from the diploma/program
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform delegated clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a licensed provider or nurse in accordance with established protocols, competencies, and organizational policies
For Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform within the nursing scope of practice
- Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months
- Successful completion of pre-employment health screening
- Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites
- Current Minnesota LPN licensure
- Current CPR certificate
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, or provider, consistent with the LPN scope of practice defined by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
For Registered Nurses:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform within the registered nurse scope of practice
- Current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within six months
- Successful completion of pre-employment health screening
- Reliable attendance and ability to work at the clinic site as scheduled, including travel to other clinic sites
- Current Minnesota RN licensure
- Current CPR certificate
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to delegate and supervise nursing care consistent with professional standards and RN scope of practice as defined by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
Compensation
Hourly wage ranges:
- Medical Assistants: $23.33-$29.86
- Licensed Practical Nurses: $24.51-$32.95
- Registered Nurses: $32.68-$48.83 (BSN hires are eligible for an extra $1/hour)
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
