Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Blue Ash Family Medicine team. In this role, you will work closely with primary care physicians to deliver excellent patient care to the community, ensuring all services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and community members in a respectful manner and provide excellent customer service
  • Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are correct and up to date
  • Measure vital signs including pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
  • Perform departmental clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required within 12 months of start date):
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assisting
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from the National Association for Health Professionals
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • If unable to obtain MA certification, an Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) is acceptable (not accepted in the state of South Carolina)
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician's office
