Nurses and More is seeking an LPN or RN for a 1:1 school-based private duty nursing position caring for an elementary-age boy throughout the school day. This is not a traditional school health room role—you will provide individualized care to the same student at the same school every day, building a consistent relationship with the student, family, and school team.
Clinical Setting
You will meet your student at school. This is an active role requiring you to remain on your feet, stay close to your student, and be ready to assist throughout the shift. Nurses do not transport students.

- Monitor closely for safety and implement fall prevention strategies (falls are frequent)
- Monitor for seizure-like episodes
- Perform neuro checks as indicated by the student's care plan
- Document care on a tablet
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM
- Off weekends, holidays, and all school breaks
- No night shifts
Compensation
- LPN: $33 per hour
- RN: $39 per hour
- Daily pay available
- Weekly direct deposit
- Overtime pay opportunity
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered LPN or RN license (North Carolina license, or multistate compact license issued by another compact state; if North Carolina is your primary state of residence, you must hold an NC license)
- LPN: One year of related LPN experience within the last 3 years (direct patient care with transferable clinical skills in pediatrics, home care, long-term care, acute care, or private duty nursing)
- RN: One year of related RN experience within the last 3 years, or one year of related LPN experience within the last 3 years
- Current CPR certification from an in-person course (online-only certifications are not accepted)
- Willingness to complete online assessments
- Ability to lift and reposition pediatric clients, assist with transfers, and remain alert and responsive throughout the assigned shift
- Reliable transportation to your assigned school or meeting location
Note: Newly licensed RNs with prior LPN experience may have that prior LPN experience count toward the experience requirement for this position.
