Good Samaritan Society NE Auburn is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time position in long-term care. This role provides professional nursing care to residents of all ages under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. You will work day shifts in a not-for-profit organization committed to quality care and service in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles relevant to the clinical setting
  • Assess residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered
  • Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
  • Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
  • Develop self-care programs based on resident education principles
  • Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Clinical Setting

Long-term care facility serving seniors.

Schedule

  • Part-time, 24 hours per week
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Location: Auburn, NE (1322 U St, Auburn, NE 68305)

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing Board or multi-state licensure privileges
  • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
  • Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span, or a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
  • Maintenance of required department-specific competencies and certifications
  • Completion of required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in practical nursing

Additional Requirements

If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota, graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.

Compensation

  • Salary range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
