GSS NE Auburn, a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to seniors, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care in a long-term care setting. This is a PRN (as-needed) position working day shifts.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a long-term care facility serving residents of all ages. You will practice under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, applying nursing principles appropriate to the clinical setting and the physical and psychosocial needs of each resident.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, ensuring their health, comfort, and safety
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered
  • Assess residents and contribute to care planning
  • Perform testing and evaluation to assess resident status
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
  • Document resident interactions, outcomes, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information
  • Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
  • Develop self-care programs based on resident education principles
  • Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Maintain clear communication and confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with your state nursing board or multi-state licensure privileges
  • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
  • Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span, or a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
  • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
  • Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in practical nursing

Additional Requirements

  • If the position requires IV therapy/management skills and you are licensed in North Dakota, you must have graduated from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required as a condition of employment
  • Specific services or positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements
