GSS NE Auburn, a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to seniors, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care in a long-term care setting. This is a PRN (as-needed) position working day shifts.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a long-term care facility serving residents of all ages. You will practice under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, applying nursing principles appropriate to the clinical setting and the physical and psychosocial needs of each resident.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, ensuring their health, comfort, and safety
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Assess residents and contribute to care planning
- Perform testing and evaluation to assess resident status
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Document resident interactions, outcomes, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
- Develop self-care programs based on resident education principles
- Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain clear communication and confidentiality of sensitive information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with your state nursing board or multi-state licensure privileges
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
- Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span, or a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
- Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing
Additional Requirements
- If the position requires IV therapy/management skills and you are licensed in North Dakota, you must have graduated from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
- Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required as a condition of employment
- Specific services or positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements
