LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse or MA - Medical Assistant - Diabetes & Thyroid Clinic - FT Days

Sanford Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) to join the Diabetes & Thyroid Clinic at the Heart Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is a full-time day position with no nights, weekends, or holidays. You will provide quality, holistic care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting that sees 5.2 million outpatient and clinic visits annually. As an ambulatory LPN or MA, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician and serve as the primary clinical support for a provider within your scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients
• Document thorough medical histories from patients
• Contribute to patient assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals
• Counsel patients and families on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 40 hours per week
• Day shift only
• No nights, weekends, or holidays

Compensation and Benefits

• LPN salary range: $21.75 - $29.50 per hour
• MA salary range: $19.00 - $25.50 per hour

Required Qualifications for LPN

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
• Current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing Board or multi-state licensure privileges
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment

Required Qualifications for MA

• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
• Current certification (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association (NHCA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or Registration (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment

Preferred Qualifications for MA

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting
