LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse or MA - Medical Assistant - 26th & Sycamore Family Medicine Clinic - FT Days

Sanford Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) for the 26th & Sycamore Family Medicine Clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is a full-time position working day shifts in an ambulatory clinic setting that processes over 5.2 million outpatient and clinic visits annually.

Clinical Setting

You will work as part of the ambulatory nursing care team at 26th Sycamore Clinic, located at 4405 E 26th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57103. LPNs work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician and serve as the primary nurse for a provider within their scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients
• Document thorough medical histories from patients
• Contribute to patient assessment and administer medications or treatments as ordered
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals
• Counsel patients and families, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 8-hour day shifts
• 32 hours per week

Compensation and Bonuses

• LPN salary range: $21.75 - $29.50 per hour
• MA salary range: $19.00 - $25.50 per hour
• Sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants

Required Qualifications for LPN

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
• Current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing Board or multi-state licensure privileges
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, completion of a Board-approved AASPN program with IV therapy in the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment, with re-certification as required

Required Qualifications for MA

• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
• Certification (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association (NHCA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or Registration (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment, with re-certification as required

Preferred Qualifications for MA

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting
