This position offers Licensed Practical Nurses the opportunity to provide professional nursing care to residents in long-term care settings operated by a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience serving seniors. As an LPN, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, delivering compassionate care while maintaining the health, comfort, and safety of residents across multiple locations.
Clinical Setting
You will work in long-term care facilities serving residents of all ages. This is a local traveler position requiring travel to support multiple locations within a 75-mile radius of your permanent address.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Assess residents and contribute to care planning
- Perform testing and evaluation to monitor resident status
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
- Document resident interactions, outcomes, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Counsel residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans under direction of supervising provider
- Develop self-care education programs for residents
- Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with your state nursing board or multi-state licensure privileges
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
- Minimum 3 months experience in long-term care (6 months preferred)
- Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span, or minimum 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
- Current annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training as required by the department and facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in practical nursing
- 6 months experience in long-term care
Schedule
- PRN (as-needed) position with varying hours
- Minimum 30 hours per month required
- Minimum one weekend shift per month required
- Shifts vary
Compensation and Differentials
- Base salary range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
- $10.00 per hour premium on all hours worked
- $1.25 per hour weekend shift differential
- $1.25 per hour evening/night shift differential (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Additional Requirements
- Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required as a condition of employment
- If position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum, or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
