LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - General Surgery

Sanford Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the General Surgery specialty practice at Sanford Health Jordan Clinic in Rapid City, South Dakota. This is a full-time ambulatory nursing position where you will work as the primary nurse for a provider, delivering quality, holistic patient care while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an ambulatory clinic environment that is part of Sanford Health's network of 224 clinic locations and 46 medical centers. The clinic sees 5.2 million outpatient and clinic visits annually and maintains a positive work environment focused on teamwork and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients
• Document thorough medical histories from patients
• Contribute to patient assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals
• Counsel patients and families, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
• Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with your state nursing board or multi-state licensure privileges
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum, or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
