Ozanam Hall Nursing Home of Queens, a faith-based nonprofit skilled nursing facility specializing in short-term rehabilitation and geriatric care, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing team. This role involves direct patient care for residents in a long-term care setting, with day, evening, and night shifts available.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily resident rounds and report problems to the nursing supervisor, initiating corrective action immediately
- Observe residents under treatment to identify progress and monitor for medication side effects
- Monitor residents' conditions including fluid intake and output
- Compose and maintain patient charts
- Provide emotional and psychological support to residents as needed
- Communicate with residents' families and friends to provide advice, comfort, and discharge instructions
Clinical Setting
Ozanam Hall is a 50+ year established nonprofit facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, serving the Queens community since 1971.
Schedule and Shifts
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Minimum 22.5 hours per week
- Day, evening, and night shifts available
- Evening and night shift positions receive an additional 10% pay differential
Compensation
- Hourly pay range: $35.35 to $38.16 based on experience, plus 10% differential for evening and night shifts
Required Qualifications
- Current LPN licensure in the State of New York
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a long-term care setting, or new graduate with desire to learn
