LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - FT - (Straight Weekends)

Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. This is a full-time position working straight weekends on 12-hour night shifts.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a long-term care facility serving residents of all ages. Good Samaritan Society is a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to seniors.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Contribute to the assessment of residents and support resident-centered care plans
• Maintain a safe, compassionate, and respectful environment
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
• Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents
• Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs
• Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Iowa or compact license
• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span, or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing board and/or possesses multi-state licensure privileges
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
• Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements

• Associate degree in practical nursing
• Passion for serving older adults

Schedule

• Full-time position
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts
• Straight weekends

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
