LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - FT Straight Nights

Good Samaritan Society NE Bloomfield is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time night shifts in our long-term care facility. You will provide professional nursing care to residents of all ages under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

Clinical Setting

This position is located at GSS NE Bloomfield, a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to seniors. The facility is committed to quality care and service in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to long-term care residents, ensuring their health, comfort, and safety
• Contribute to resident assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered
• Perform testing to evaluate resident status and provide appropriate care
• Document resident interactions, outcomes, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
• Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
• Develop self-care programs based on resident education principles
• Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public
• Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Schedule

• Full-time position, 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Rotating weekends and holidays

Compensation and Bonuses

• Salary range: $32.00 to $48.00 per hour
• $20,000 sign-on bonus available
• Generous shift differentials:
• Monday through Thursday (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM): additional $1.25 per hour
• Friday through Sunday (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM): additional $7.25 per hour

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Currently hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing Board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum, or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
• Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in practical nursing

Additional Requirements

• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, completion of a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the State Board of Nursing may be required
• Drug screen and pre-employment background screening required as a condition of employment
