Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in a long-term care setting. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, delivering compassionate care while maintaining the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and provide care according to established care plans
- Assess residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
- Perform testing and evaluation to assess resident status and provide appropriate care
- Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
- Document resident interactions, outcomes, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
- Develop self-care programs based on resident education principles
- Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain clear communication and confidentiality of sensitive information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Full-time position with 36 scheduled weekly hours
- Weekend work required
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum, or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
