Hutchinson Village, a 65-bed senior skilled nursing facility specializing in long-term and post-acute care services, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care for residents under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

Clinical Setting

Hutchinson Village is part of the Good Samaritan Society, one of the largest non-profit providers of senior services in the United States. The facility provides long-term and post-acute care services to seniors in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and competency within the full scope of nursing expertise
  • Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents
  • Contribute to resident assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered
  • Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of resident status and provide appropriate care
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations
  • Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
  • Document resident interactions, outcomes, medications, behavior, activity, and dietary information
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public
  • Work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Counsel residents, family members, and resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician
  • Develop self-care programs based on resident education principles
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Currently hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing Board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
  • Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum, or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility
  • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
  • Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in practical nursing

Additional Requirements

If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota, graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required.

Schedule

  • Full-time position

  • Salary range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
