Job Description

As an Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse on the Acute Orthopedic Trauma Unit, you will provide direct patient care in a clinical setting, addressing the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while contributing to assessments, implementing treatments and medications, conducting diagnostic studies, and evaluating patient responses.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care and coordinate patient interactions
  • Reinforce patient and family education, discharge planning, and safety protocols
  • Contribute to assessments and implement treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies
  • Evaluate patient responses to care interventions
  • Participate in unit-based decision-making and contribute data for care evaluations
  • Assist with performance appraisals and precept new staff, fostering a positive work environment
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Participate in evidence-based practice initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing
  • Ability to work under a Temporary Practice Permit until NCLEX is obtained
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality care, and continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
