LPN (LICENSED PRACTICAL) and RN (Registered Nurse)

BrightStar Care of Richmond is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) for home-based care positions. You will provide skilled nursing care to patients with complex medical needs in their homes, working flexible schedules with the autonomy to manage your own caseload.

Clinical Setting

• In-home care provided at patients' residences

Responsibilities

Positions are available for patients with varying acuity levels:

• ALS patients requiring ventilator and PEG tube care, with shifts up to 12 hours per day
• One-month-old infant requiring tracheostomy and ventilator care, feeding tube management, and dialysis support
• 15-year-old quadriplegic patient, with hours primarily Monday through Friday days

Required Qualifications

• Unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state where care is provided
• One year of nursing experience
• Current CPR certification
• Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray
• Valid driver's license with current automobile insurance
• Strong clinical skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Fluency in English (read, write, speak, and understand)
• Physical capability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; varied assistance required depending on patient mobility
