Long-Term Substitute School Nurse

Allen Brook School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute School Nurse to provide comprehensive health care services to students. This position runs from November 18, 2026, through February 5, 2027, following the school calendar, and is scheduled for 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school environment, serving as the primary health care provider for students and supporting the school's health and wellness initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide student health care services including assessment, first aid, health screening, and medication administration
• Care for students with special health needs
• Assist in communicable disease control and conduct immunization assessments
• Compile statistical information and maintain health and medication records and logs
• Complete accident reporting and required state reports
• Serve as an active member of student support teams and update student health emergency information
• Provide interpretation of health information to staff and parents
• Communicate school health policies and share pertinent health resource information to promote a healthy school environment

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in Vermont or an active RN license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• CPR certification
• Proficiency in technology with comfort utilizing Google Workspace tools for document creation, file management, communication, and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in school health, public health, or pediatric nursing
