Locum Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP)

This is a locum position for an OBGYN Nurse Practitioner to support the implementation of a pilot program focused on pre-consultation processes for fertility patients. You will work collaboratively with the Reproduction & Infertility teams to develop and execute strategies that prepare patients prior to their meetings with Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) physicians.

Clinical Setting

You will be based at the Downey Independence location within a hospital/clinic administrative setting. All patient interactions will be conducted virtually during the initial phase, with potential clinic coverage to be introduced depending on site-specific considerations and role scope.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Reproduction & Infertility teams to formulate strategy for pre-consultation processes
• Provide administrative support coordinating with the Patient Information team
• Conduct patient outreach via phone and telehealth platforms
• Triage patients to identify those who may not require immediate physician intervention
• Devise tailored plans to support patients throughout their fertility journey

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Weekend shifts can be accommodated if desired
• No call obligations

Position Details

• Duration: Immediate availability for 6 months, with possibility of extension
• Patient volume is variable; all engagements will be virtual
• Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC
• Credentialing timeline: Approximately 60-90 days post-application submission

Required Qualifications

• Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Active California Nursing License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• OBGYN Nurse Practitioner experience with fertility expertise
