Locum - Nurse Practitioner - Surgery

This is a locum Nurse Practitioner position in surgery at a hospital-based inpatient facility. You will provide post-procedural daily patient care for adult and geriatric patients, working 100% inpatient. The role involves patient and family communication and education, collaboration with a neurosurgery NP employed at the facility, and documentation using the EPIC EMR system.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1700 hours
• 40 hours per week
• 8 hours average call back hours
• Coverage dates: Mid-December 2026 through at least April 2027

Responsibilities

• Provide post-procedural daily patient care
• Communicate and educate patients and families
• Collaborate with the neurosurgery NP at the facility
• Document patient care in EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
• Active Virginia medical license (no licensure delays permitted)
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Active DEA registration
• Clean professional background with no malpractice or license issues
