The opportunity

Job Description

We are seeking a Locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide full-time anesthesia coverage in our operating room. This position is available due to the retirement of a current staff member, with an anticipated start date of November 6th. The role offers the opportunity to work in a well-established surgical environment with no on-call duties required.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an operating room providing anesthesia services for both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. The practice operates under Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) supervision model.

Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia and manage anesthetic care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Manage cases across multiple surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cataract Surgery, and Endoscopies
  • Maintain patient safety and hemodynamic stability throughout surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Document anesthetic care and maintain accurate medical records in the EPIC EMR system

Schedule

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
  • No on-call duties required
  • Orientation and proctoring will occur one business day before your initial shift

Required Qualifications

  • Active Michigan nursing license
  • NBCRNA board certification (or board eligible status)
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Minimum of 75 anesthesia cases logged within the past 12 months
  • Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Clear background check, including internet and OIG searches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering spinal anesthesia

Credentialing

Standard credentialing typically requires approximately 30 days. Applications will be prioritized based on your projected start date. Candidates awaiting Michigan licensure may be considered for IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) status during the credentialing process.
