Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - School Nurse

FullShift Staffing is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide school nursing care for school-age students during the 2023-2024 school year. School nurses are responsible for providing medical assistance to students, assessing injuries, managing health concerns, and coordinating emergency services when needed. This position offers the benefit of having all scheduled school breaks off.

Clinical Setting

This position is located in Fresno, CA. The specific schedule will depend on the school selected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct student hearing and vision screenings
• Educate students on hygiene and safety practices
• Dispense prescription medications to students per physician instructions
• Verify vaccination records
• Take students' temperatures when fever is suspected
• Administer first aid and CPR
• Treat minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises
• Contact parents when students are ill or injured

Required Qualifications

• California State Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• Current Negative TB Result

Physical Demands

This position regularly requires employees to talk, hear, and communicate with both children and adults. The position requires use of hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Employees are frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time. The position may require lifting, bending, and crouching.
