Laclede Groves is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing team on a full-time evening shift. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care to residents in our long-term care setting, coordinating individualized plans of care that address physical, psychosocial, and functional needs. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality clinical care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Practice nursing care within the scope of LPN licensure and in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and EverTrue clinical and administrative policies
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized resident care plans
- Administer medications and treatments to residents; pass medications and oversee the medication ordering and administration process
- Monitor administration of IV fluids, supplemental nourishments, and medications as ordered
- Initiate IV therapy if IV-certified
- Maintain working knowledge of observation, assessment, and documentation processes appropriate to LPN licensure, including care and service plans and MDS documentation as applicable
- Use the electronic medical record to capture complete clinical documentation in accordance with policy and procedures
- Observe resident status to ensure quality care; coordinate with other resident services to maintain continuity of care
- Document medical information and maintain detailed, timely, and accurate reports
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and functional environment by assessing potential hazards and implementing safety practices
- Oversee and direct certified staff and others as assigned to ensure EverTrue standards of care and services
- Report and support investigative protocols related to staff or resident incidents and accidents in accordance with state and federal regulations
Required Qualifications
- Active LPN license in state of practice
- Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized training or experience in gerontological nursing
Schedule and Shift
- Full-time position
- Evening shift
- May be required to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays as necessary
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel objects, tools, or controls
- Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to climb or balance
- Speech clarity, speech recognition, written expression, and sensory abilities required
Working Conditions
- Well-lighted and ventilated work area with temperature control
- Subject to emotionally upset residents or family members
- Subject to exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions including AIDS and Hepatitis B virus within standard precautions guidelines
- Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment provided as needed
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay grade 12: $23.55 to $37.75 per hour
- Shift differentials: $2.00/hour evenings; $1.50/hour nights; $1.50/hour weekends (Illinois and Missouri; may vary in other states)
