Licensed Practical Nurse

This Licensed Practical Nurse position is located in the Midtown office within Horizon 32 Staff. Working Monday through Friday for 35 hours per week, you will assist physicians and nurses with patient care, electronic medical record management, and patient flow in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient flow by monitoring patient arrival, escorting patients to exam rooms, monitoring wait times, and preparing patients for examination
• Assist physicians during examinations as required or requested
• Ensure exam rooms are clean and ready for the next patient
• Wash, sterilize, and set up instruments and equipment
• Stock rooms and check materials and medications for expiration
• Discard medical waste properly
• Record medical information in patients' electronic medical records as appropriate
• Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents
• Order supplies and equipment as authorized or escalate needs appropriately
• Receive supply orders and confirm accuracy of delivery
• Assist with cost control efforts
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and triage calls to appropriate personnel
• Assist with administrative tasks including prior authorizations, form completion, referrals, maintaining logs and educational materials, and sending and receiving messages, mail, faxes, records, labs, x-ray reports, and hospital notes
• Provide in-office patient care services including obtaining patient histories, taking vital signs, performing venipuncture, collecting specimens, administering vaccines and medications, and educating patients

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Approximately 2 or more years of related clinical experience (new graduates may be considered)
• NYS Registered LPN License and current LPN registration
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Infection Control Certificate
• Professional demeanor and articulate communication skills

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 35 hours per week
• Non-exempt position

Compensation

• Salary range: $35.71 - $39.62 per hour (for NYC offices, as required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018)
