Licensed Practical Nurse

Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for their Needham Campus to provide routine and emergency medical services to school-aged children in residential, group, and school programs. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, you will deliver comprehensive medical care to students across multiple clinical settings.

Clinical Setting

Walker serves over 150 communities in Massachusetts through residential programs, community-based assessment and treatment (CBAT), intensive treatment programs, a special education day school, a therapeutic middle and high school, and outpatient and in-home therapeutic services. The organization primarily serves school-aged children from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds who struggle with anxiety and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine medical care to students
• Provide emergency care to students as necessary
• Administer medications to students at various times throughout the shift
• Maintain medical records
• Provide ongoing consultation to staff and attend required meetings
• Ensure first aid supplies are available in all necessary locations
• Track and schedule medical, dental, and lab appointments
• Provide in-service training to staff
• Communicate with parents, guardians, and collaterals as needed
• Support nursing internships
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing
• Interest in working with school-aged children
• New graduates are welcome to apply

Schedule

• Alternating weekend coverage required
• Some holiday coverage required
