Licensed Practical Nurse - Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute - MCE

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute (VOI) Clinic Clinical setting. In this role, you will support the licensed healthcare team in providing direct patient care, patient education, and care coordination. You will work collaboratively with registered nurses and other healthcare providers to implement and monitor established plans of care, ensuring patients progress toward their health goals. All patient care activities will be undertaken under the delegation and supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.

Clinical Setting

The Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Institute is part of Vanderbilt Health, the region's largest comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics. You will work in an outpatient clinic environment focused on orthopaedic care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with the licensed healthcare team
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in the delivery of health care services
• Follow established plans of care to ensure patient progress and effective outcomes
• Contribute to nursing assessments by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective patient data in an accurate and timely manner
• Provide patient education on health topics and care instructions
• Participate in the development of plans of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team
• Support plans to promote health and a safe environment
• Perform clinical nursing interventions such as wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs monitoring
• Anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility
• Handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable units
• Adapt to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption
• Follow up to ensure problems and issues are resolved

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• No holidays, weekends, or on-call requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Tennessee
• Graduate of an approved discipline-specific LPN program
• Minimum one year of relevant work experience
