The opportunity

Job Description

Join INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City as a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse in Urology Medical-Surgical acute care. You will work days providing direct patient care, contributing to patient assessments and care planning under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver quality patient outcomes.

Clinical Setting

This position is located at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma's largest not-for-profit health system. You will work in an acute care urology medical-surgical unit.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the assessment and reassessment of patients
  • Contribute to the plan of care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions
  • Monitor for signs and symptoms related to abnormal lab values and deviation from baseline assessments
  • Report changes in patient status to the physician and initiate any new orders from the physician as directed
  • Promote wellness and provide patient and caregiver education
  • Work with the care team to implement and ensure patient quality and safety initiatives
  • Promote patient satisfaction and ensure patient confidentiality at all times
  • May be required to float to other units and may be required to participate in on-call status

Schedule

  • Full-Time, Days

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association, required within 30 days of hire
  • Other certifications and competencies required based on service line skill
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

This position may have additional or varied physical demands and/or respiratory fit test requirements. You may be exposed to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Standard precautions must be followed at all times.
