Licensed Practical Nurse - St. Dominic Clinic

St. Dominic Clinic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality patient care in a clinic setting under the supervision of a licensed physician. You will work collaboratively with the physician and floor nurses to coordinate daily patient care, manage patient access functions, and support clinical operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation during examinations, treatments, and emergency situations
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a safe, clean, and competent manner
• Administer oral, rectal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications and injections
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient care areas and examination rooms
• Maintain complete, accurate, and legible medical records reflecting patient condition, medications, treatment, and other pertinent clinical information
• Provide telephone triage and communication; call in prescriptions and order diagnostic studies as defined by protocol or per physician instructions
• Handle prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills
• Assist with patient flow, scheduling appointments, procedures, and tests
• Educate and explain procedures to patients and family members, assisting them in coping with illnesses and hospitalizations under physician direction
• Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and business information
• Function independently and assume responsibility for clinical procedures in accordance with demonstrated ability and training
• Maintain working knowledge of business office protocols and procedures
• Identify methods for improving patient care
• Pursue educational opportunities and obtain continuing education units to maintain licensure
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program
• Active Mississippi LPN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hospital acute care setting
• Strong medication management experience
