Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN)

Healogics, the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) for its Wound Care Center. In this role, you will provide wound-related and basic nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Provider, working according to all WCC and hospital policies, care and safety protocols, and Clinical Services Practice Guidelines.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient wound care center environment, primarily indoors, with exposure to bloodborne pathogens, toxic chemicals, and mechanical equipment. The role involves both stationary work at a computer and movement throughout the patient care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound-related patient care according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and approved hospital protocols, policies, and procedures
• Assist in vein clinic as assigned after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training
• Assist with patient intake and discharge as needed
• Provide assistance with case management under RN direction, in accordance with state regulations
• Gather patient information and necessary equipment and supplies for the RN or provider
• Report quality of care issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager
• Communicate with team members regarding therapeutic interventions to ensure quality of care
• Perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy related duties after completing required Healogics hyperbaric training
• Perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing required Healogics hyperbaric safety director training
• Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy
• Perform other duties as delegated

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program or state-approved educational program
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment
• Two or more years of experience as LPN/LVN, including one or more years in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term acute care (LTACH) setting
• Demonstrated competency in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated organization, prioritization, and time-management skills
• Basic knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
• Customer service and follow-up skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work with others and in a team environment
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to stay calm in all situations
• Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $25.89 and $34.10 per hour, based on potential employee qualifications including education, experience, geography, operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
