Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) to support the WIC Franklin clinic. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the licensed healthcare team to provide direct patient care, deliver healthcare information to patients and families, and support established plans of care. You will work under the delegation and supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs monitoring
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in the delivery of health care services
  • Partner with the healthcare team by following established plans of care to ensure patient progress and effective outcomes
  • Support plans to promote health and maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Participate in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team
  • Collect, report, and record objective and subjective patient data in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide patient education in practical applications
  • Anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility
  • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units
  • Adapt to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday: 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Weekday availability is heavily preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Tennessee
  • Graduate of an approved discipline-specific LPN program
  • Minimum one year of relevant nursing work experience
