Griffin Memorial Hospital is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to join our Adult Inpatient departments on the PM shift. You will provide direct and indirect professional nursing care to patients experiencing severe mental illness and substance abuse disorders in a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving adults aged 18 and over across all 77 Oklahoma counties.
Clinical Setting
Griffin Memorial Hospital is a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services treatment center located in Norman, Oklahoma. The facility provides inpatient hospital care for individuals in need of mental health and substance abuse services.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direct and indirect nursing care in the hospital under the supervision or direction of registered nurses or licensed physicians
- Conduct nursing assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations
- Provide health-related education and case management
- Execute the medical regime, including administering medications and treatments prescribed by authorized providers
- Offer healthcare to patients experiencing severe emotional disorders, psychiatric illness, or substance abuse
- Perform crisis intervention and collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other nurses
- Prepare and distribute medications on the unit
Required Qualifications
You must meet one of the following based on experience level:
LPN I:
- Valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, OR
- Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
LPN II:
- Valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing plus one year of practical nursing experience, OR
- Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus one year of practical nursing experience
LPN III:
- Valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing plus two years of practical nursing experience, OR
- Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus two years of practical nursing experience
Additional Requirements
- Strong commitment to patient well-being and safety
- Valid driver's license and willingness to fulfill job-related travel
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds and push/pull with a maximum force of 25 pounds
- Must submit to a physical examination upon conditional offer of employment
- Must submit to urinalysis drug testing upon conditional offer of employment; appointment is contingent upon a negative drug test result
Schedule
- Full-time position with 12-hour shifts
- Rotating schedule: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- This agency requires 24/7 coverage. Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $50,500 to $60,000 plus holiday and shift differential
