Piqua Care Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents in our long-term care setting. In this full-time role, you will supervise nursing assistants and non-licensed personnel, administer medications, maintain clinical documentation, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality resident care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents
- Supervise and direct the day-to-day functions of STNAs and other nursing personnel in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician, verifying resident identity before administration
- Complete and file required recordkeeping forms and charts upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge
- Review resident care plans daily to ensure appropriate care is being rendered
- Inform the Nurse Supervisor and Unit Manager of any changes needed to care plans
- Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign orders, and progress notes
- Inform nursing personnel of new admissions, expected arrival times, and room assignments
- Provide feedback and recommendations for probationary and annual employee performance evaluations for STNAs
- Lead, educate, counsel, and discipline assigned STNAs as necessary
- Provide discipline and evaluations of assigned STNAs and other nursing personnel
- Meet with assigned nursing personnel to plan shifts' services, programs, and activities
