Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for its physician practice float pool. This per diem position works as part of a care team in a physician practice setting, supporting providers and coordinating patient care across the continuum.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers by collecting patient history and reason for visit, completing observations, physical exams, telephone triage, and analyzing diagnostic data
- Track and log all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests, ensuring providers receive all results
- Provide patient education using current and appropriate materials, and evaluate the effectiveness of education
- Assist patients with prescription refill requests, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization
- Assist providers during procedures and examinations, and perform instrument and room cleanup
- Coordinate internal and external appointments for new and established patients based on medical needs, patient preferences, and practice schedule
- Intervene to prevent, minimize, or correct actual or potential patient risks based on observation of physiological, behavioral, and environmental factors
- Participate in telephone triage by obtaining clinically appropriate data and symptoms, advising and instructing patients according to established protocols and provider orders

- Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 7 AM-7 PM Variable
Required Qualifications
- Technical School Diploma from an LPN Program
- Ability to establish and maintain control of violent patients or dangerous situations
- Basic computer skills, critical thinking, and ability to concentrate
- Knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification upon hire
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the State of Pennsylvania upon hire
