Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support the pediatric gastroenterology clinic team. In this role, you will work closely with registered nurses and licensed healthcare team members to provide direct patient care to children with gastrointestinal conditions, deliver healthcare information to patients and families, and help implement established plans of care. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to evaluate patient progress toward treatment goals and ensure effective outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers in delivering healthcare services
- Provide direct patient care under the delegation and supervision of a licensed professional
- Support the established plan of care to promote patient progress and positive outcomes
- Contribute to nursing assessments by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective patient data accurately and timely
- Participate in patient education activities
- Participate in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team
- Anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility
- Handle multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing work into manageable units
- Adapt to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption
- Follow up to ensure problems and issues are resolved
- Perform nursing interventions such as wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs
- Support plans to promote health and a safe environment
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- No holidays, weekends, or on-call duties
Required Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Tennessee
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific LPN program
- One year of relevant work experience
