Licensed Practical Nurse - Part Time

UVA Imaging is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient imaging center in Zion Crossroads, VA. This part-time position offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced imaging environment while working with a supportive clinical team.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an outpatient imaging center operated by UVA Imaging, part of the University of Virginia Health System. The center combines the comfort and convenience of outpatient care with the expertise and innovation of a major academic medical center.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and care of patients undergoing imaging procedures
• Conduct patient safety screenings
• Obtain and review patient histories as needed
• Establish IV access
• Support patients throughout their visit
• Work under the direction of an RN or licensed independent practitioner
• Assist in managing medical emergencies and contrast reactions as directed
• Complete documentation accurately and concisely
• Perform data entry and work with information and billing systems

Schedule

Tuesday and Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a part-time position.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an LPN in a clinical setting
• Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
• Current LPN licensure meeting all state requirements for Virginia
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire
• Ability to work independently and multitask under the direction of an RN or licensed independent practitioner
• Strong communication, organization, and patient care skills
• Ability to complete documentation accurately and concisely
• Working knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard and data entry, digital archiving, and data retrieval

While performing the essential functions of this position, you may be exposed to blood and bodily fluids, infectious diseases, radiation, magnetic fields, chemicals, and cool and/or dimly lit rooms.
