Licensed Practical Nurse - Neurology clinic, Full-Time days

Cape Fear Valley Neurology is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time day shifts in our outpatient neurology clinic in Fayetteville, North Carolina. You will provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of the office manager or physician, assisting with clinic functions and supporting the clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient assessment and collaborate with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing patient care plans
• Follow the patient's plan of care while providing direct nursing care to assigned patients
• Adjust care based on age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized personnel
• Maintain accurate and relevant records of patient care
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician
• Facilitate a safe environment and recognize life-threatening situations, responding appropriately
• Maintain required competencies and participate in performance improvement activities
• Monitor the quality of care and establish collaborative interpersonal relationships with other health system staff
• Support patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within the limits of the medical regimen
• Participate in cost containment and complete accurate charging for patient services
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina or compact state licensure
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Positive interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patients
• Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs
• Visual acuity for observation of patients
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for long periods
• Ability to lift 35 pounds
• May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
