Licensed Practical Nurse - Med 3 (3400/3500)

Mercy is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for Med 3 (units 3400/3500) to provide direct patient care in a collaborative, supportive environment. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will deliver patient-centered care, support treatment plans, monitor patient conditions, and assist with admissions, discharges, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the LPN scope of practice
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, assessments, and care planning
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the RN
• Participate in bedside shift reports, patient rounding, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Reinforce patient and family education
• Delegate and support patient care activities for unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies and procedures
• Complete required competencies, certifications, and ongoing education
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and department goals

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• Current LPN license in the state of practice
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills

Licenses and Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required within 30 days of hire
• IV Certification required upon hire or within 3 months of hire, based on department requirements
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., or other unit-specific certifications) may be required based on assignment
