Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN

VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses for Canyon County Detention Center in Caldwell, Idaho. This role provides quality nursing care to the incarcerated population within the scope of practice defined by Idaho's nurse practice act. You will work in a correctional health care setting, delivering direct patient care, monitoring health conditions, and collaborating with medical staff and other healthcare professionals.

Clinical Setting

You will work at Canyon County Detention Center, a correctional facility where VitalCore Health Strategies provides comprehensive health care services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care consistent with the Licensed Practical Nurse scope of practice under Idaho law
• Utilize a systematic approach to meet the health needs of individual patients
• Implement nursing care within the LPN scope of practice, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to appropriate medical staff
• Administer medications to patients
• Care for wounds with appropriate cleaning and dressing/bandaging
• Provide care for multiple patients as directed by the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, or Registered Nurse
• Assist in developing and implementing teaching plans based on individual patient needs, addressing health promotion, maintenance, and restoration
• Document all actions in the medication administration record and medical records
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by the facility

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
• Current active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Idaho
• Active CPR certification
• Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as assigned
• Knowledge of Idaho state laws and regulations governing nursing practice

Schedule

• Day shift: 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Thursday, Friday, Saturday
