Tufts Medicine Behavioral Health Hospital, a new 144-bed state-of-the-art facility in Malden, Massachusetts opening in fall 2025, is hiring full-time Licensed Practical Nurses for the day shift. This is a partnership between Tufts Medicine, a leading integrated academic health system in Massachusetts, and Acadia Healthcare, the largest standalone provider of behavioral health services in the U.S.

As an LPN, you will provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by state Nurse Practice Act regulations and facility policies. You will work with patients receiving behavioral health treatment, facilitating admissions, clinical intake assessments, and utilization review processes to ensure continuity of appropriate care.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient health and administer basic care utilizing the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice
  • Carry out care plan objectives and goals individualized to patient needs
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met
  • Acknowledge and work to resolve patient complaints and concerns
  • Implement nursing interventions to progress patients toward wellness and maintain wellness
  • Discuss care provided with patients and listen to their concerns
  • Report status changes and concerns to registered nurses and physicians
  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in treatment
  • Provide safe medication delivery in accordance with policies, procedures, and physician orders
  • Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policy, external governing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing standards
  • Document patient symptoms, responses, and progress thoroughly and accurately
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned

Schedule and Compensation

  • Full-time, days shift
  • Pay: $29.52-$35.25 per hour depending on experience
  • Shift differential: $3.00 per hour for weekend days

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current LPN/LVN license as required by state
  • CPR certification (training available upon hire and offered by facility)
  • De-escalation and restraint certification (training available upon hire and offered by facility)
  • First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility
