Licensed Practical Nurse LPN) School Nurse

Lauderdale County Schools seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide school nursing services in daycare and school-age educational settings. Working under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor and Director of Coordinated School Health, you will deliver safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate nursing care to children ages 6 weeks through 18 years, and until age 21 for students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing services supporting student health and wellness
• Promote a safe learning environment
• Respond to student illness and injury
• Administer authorized medications
• Maintain required health documentation
• Communicate with parents, guardians, school personnel, and healthcare providers as appropriate
• Work within the LPN scope of practice under nursing supervision

Employment Status

• Assignment as determined by Lauderdale County Schools

• Reports to the Nurse Supervisor and Director of Coordinated School Health
