Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - School Nurse (Elementary Bibb County)

This position provides school nursing services to elementary students in Bibb County. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will deliver direct care to students who are ill or injured, manage chronic health conditions, administer medications, and coordinate health screenings and referrals. You will serve as a liaison between the school, families, and physicians, while maintaining a safe and healthy school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to students who are ill or injured
• Conduct health screenings and make referrals for health care conditions as needed
• Administer medications and manage chronic illnesses
• Assist in promoting a healthy and safe school environment
• Act as liaison between school, family, and physician
• Audit immunization records and review student health forms
• Document care in the school's electronic medical record system
• Educate staff and students on health-related issues and treatments as needed
• Complete online continuing education and attend meetings as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Valid, active LPN license in the state where you practice
• BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing at least 5 pounds frequently
