Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Per-Diem

Mercy Convent is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct care to the Sisters of Mercy and supervise caregivers during assigned shifts. This per-diem position offers flexible scheduling with the opportunity to work days, evenings, or nights in a mission-centered environment.

Clinical Setting

Mercy Convent is home to the Sisters of Mercy. This role focuses on providing compassionate, mission-aligned nursing care in an assisted living or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to care plans and physician orders
• Supervise and support caregivers during assigned shifts
• Complete patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and maintain accurate documentation
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Respond promptly to residents' needs and monitor for changes in condition
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow all safety and infection-control protocols
• Communicate clearly with the Director of Nursing, Resident Care Aide, team members, and residents
• Assist with admissions, transfers, incident reporting, and chart updates

Required Qualifications

• Active LPN license in good standing
• BLS/CPR certification
• Minimum one year of nursing experience
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs and meet general physical demands
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of geriatric nursing experience
• Experience in assisted living, long-term care, skilled nursing, or memory care
• Experience with chronic disease management and dementia care
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Flexibility with scheduling

Schedule

• Per-diem position with flexible scheduling
• Available shifts: days, evenings, and nights

Compensation

• Pay range: $24.00–$32.00 per hour (based on experience)
