Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences, a 201-apartment assisted living community on Long Island, NY, is seeking a per diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work as a Shift Supervisor. This is an every-other-Friday and Saturday position working the 11pm to 7:15am shift. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Clinical Setting

The Gurwin Family of Healthcare Services operates a comprehensive healthcare system on Long Island that includes a 5-star, 460-bed Nursing & Rehabilitation Center providing short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing care, home care programs, ventilator-dependent care, palliative and hospice care, a Memory Care Unit, and on-site dialysis services. This position is based in the assisted living community.

Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for the Wellness Office in the absence of the Director of Resident Services
  • Supervise personal care services rendered by assisted living staff
  • Implement standards of care and policy and procedures for the Wellness Department
  • Coordinate and manage all Assisted Living Aides
  • Apprise family members of changes in resident health and behavior
  • Manage medication control and documentation
  • Supervise daily shift logs to ensure compliance with regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Current valid New York State LPN license
  • Knowledge of geriatric nursing
  • Adherence to New York Department of Health Regulations as they pertain to Assisted Living Facilities
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in an active Assisted Living Community
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong relationship-building abilities
  • Effective leadership capabilities
  • Commitment to the well-being of residents with demonstrated compassion and respect for their concerns

Schedule

  • Per diem position
  • Every other Friday and Saturday
  • 11pm to 7:15am shift
