Licensed Practical Nurse-LPN- Pediatrics

Clinical Setting

You will work in a pediatrics provider office, delivering nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Professional. The position emphasizes quality of life and career advancement within a healthcare system that serves patients across multiple settings.

Responsibilities

• Take accurate vital signs consistently
• Collect routine patient data per established protocols and clinical supervisor direction
• Recognize high-risk situations and report them appropriately
• Confer with the clinical supervisor routinely concerning the plan of care
• Make suggestions regarding referrals to other disciplines
• Fulfill protocols and clinical guidelines in establishing workflow priorities
• Demonstrate acceptable technical skills in providing patient care
• Follow standards of care, established protocols, and clinical guidelines
• Follow infection control policies in administering care
• Provide patient care with consideration of age-related requirements
• Reinforce patient and family teaching
• Administer medications safely in accordance with unit policies and procedures
• Accurately transcribe physician orders
• Demonstrate working knowledge of computer skills relevant to the care area
• Demonstrate initiative and flexibility with assignments
• Function as a team member in carrying out assignments

Required Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in the State of New York
• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 20 pounds

Compensation

• Pay range: $23.85-$29.95 per hour
• New graduate pay range: $22.85-$28.95 per hour
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education
