Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Part Time

Blue Heron Senior Living is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort to residents in our senior living facility. You will perform professional assessments, maintain documentation of residents' health status, and assist with the management of assigned nursing units.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, perform, and provide written and verbal care assignments, routine skills, and procedures to ensure quality resident care
• Participate in the development and implementation of resident care plans, maintaining up-to-date documentation and making recommendations for care plan revisions according to facility policy
• Make daily and periodic visits to observe for symptoms and reactions to medications or treatments
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, weights, diet supplements and replacements, cultures, and other clinical data
• Assist with the orientation and ongoing training of staff to maintain required skill levels

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid LPN license in good standing according to State and Federal requirements
• Thorough understanding of the principles of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Florida
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Excel and Word
• Personal integrity and ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and personnel
• Ability to maintain discretion and protect the integrity of confidential information in compliance with HIPAA
• Knowledge of personal computers, Word, Excel, and office machines such as fax and copying machines
