The opportunity

Job Description

New Hampshire Detox is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVNs) to join our team providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the detoxification process. This full-time position works nights and involves close collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the clinical treatment team to support individuals beginning their recovery journey.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a detoxification and behavioral health treatment facility serving patients with substance use disorders. The role requires working the night shift in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment
  • Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms and changes in medical condition
  • Administer medications as prescribed by the medical team
  • Document all patient care accurately in the Electronic Health Record
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient care and clinical reporting
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans
  • Educate patients regarding medications, detoxification, and recovery
  • Reconcile and securely manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate controlled substance documentation
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
  • Communicate patient status effectively during shift handoff
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide exceptional patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in good standing
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Experience administering oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during medical emergencies
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in detoxification, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment
  • Psychiatric nursing experience
  • Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and Joint Commission Behavioral Health Standards
