New Hampshire Detox is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVNs) to join our team providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the detoxification process. This full-time position works nights and involves close collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the clinical treatment team to support individuals beginning their recovery journey.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a detoxification and behavioral health treatment facility serving patients with substance use disorders. The role requires working the night shift in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment
- Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms and changes in medical condition
- Administer medications as prescribed by the medical team
- Document all patient care accurately in the Electronic Health Record
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient care and clinical reporting
- Develop and implement nursing care plans
- Educate patients regarding medications, detoxification, and recovery
- Reconcile and securely manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate controlled substance documentation
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate patient status effectively during shift handoff
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide exceptional patient care
Required Qualifications
- Current LPN license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- Experience administering oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during medical emergencies
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in detoxification, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment
- Psychiatric nursing experience
- Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and Joint Commission Behavioral Health Standards
