This position provides direct nursing care and medical oversight to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at an Intermediate Care Facility. You will work the night shift (11pm - 7am) supporting residents with activities of daily living, medication administration, health monitoring, and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Clinical Setting
Howell Branch Court is a 64-bed Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DD) located in Winter Park, Florida. The facility is part of Central Florida Communities, Inc., which operates three similar residential centers across Orange, Brevard, Lake, and Seminole Counties.
Responsibilities
- Utilize clinical nursing competency to observe, monitor, and provide care, treatment, and services to assigned residents
- Perform primary nursing duties for assigned residents on your shift, including preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual nursing summaries in accordance with residents' Active Treatment Plans
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to state and clinical nursing standards
- Receive, transcribe, and fax orders to pharmacy; enter orders in the electronic health record
- Monitor residents' physical health and relay safety and health concerns to the Director of Nursing, physician, pharmacist, and other disciplines as needed
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including grooming and meal service
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and follow applicable behavioral management plans as defined by individual resident needs
Schedule
- Night shift: 11pm - 7am
- Frequent bending, lifting, and standing required
- Constant noise environments
Required Qualifications
- Current active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Florida
- Ability to lift unassisted at least 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- At least six months of hospital or rehabilitation nursing experience
