Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN - Methodist Internal Medicine Clinic

Join the Internal Medicine team at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines as a Licensed Practical Nurse. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced clinic environment caring for adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. You will build lasting patient relationships while collaborating with experienced physicians and a dedicated healthcare team.

Clinical Setting

Methodist Internal Medicine Clinic serves adult patients requiring comprehensive internal medicine care. The clinic operates in a collaborative team-focused environment where you will work alongside physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain medical histories, and record vital signs
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (Epic)
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other treatments within the LPN scope of practice
• Provide patient education on medications, chronic disease management, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prescription refills, and continuity of care
• Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical questions while collaborating with the care team
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Half day schedule to be determined
• Full-time position with benefits
• Team members may be required to work at or float to other clinic locations to support patient care and staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Iowa
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous clinic, ambulatory, or internal medicine experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health records
