Mercy Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Medical Surgical Unit at Springfield Regional Medical Center. In this role, you will deliver safe and efficient care to patients on the acute care unit, working under the direction of registered nurses, physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses.

Clinical Setting

You will work on a general medical surgical unit in an acute care hospital setting, providing direct patient care and contributing to comprehensive treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and assist with patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice nurse
  • Implement the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care within the LPN scope of practice
  • Perform phlebotomy services
  • Contribute to the plan of care with input from patients, families, and other healthcare team members
  • Administer ordered medications and treatments within scope of care, as prescribed by a licensed physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner, using appropriate medical equipment as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program
  • Current state licensure as an LPN or LPN applicant status

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of clinical patient care experience (such as patient care technician, certified nursing assistant, or LPN) in an acute care setting, long-term care facility, or physician practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
  • Completion of Basic Arrhythmia class with a passing grade on exam (required if assigned to Telemetry or Remote Telemetry units)

Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • Night shift
